SpeedyLink began as an experiment. We purchased a used Precedent Club Car for my 14 year old son and I to tinker with. We quickly realized that the cart was painfully slow. It was not as fun as we expected. The inquisitive engineer in me quickly kicked in to see why a vehicle, with such a powerful battery system could not go faster than 12 mph. We did not want the hassle and expense of a new motor or to be held hostage by the cart vendor for the "high speed code 4". Hence, the challenge began!
After studying the schematics, we began our experimentation with several techniques to force the controller to output it's full potential to the motor. After numerous trials and failures, we were finally able to identify a safe and successful technique that got it to 19.5 mph. We designed a clever electronic circuit that did the trick. We were able to significantly increase the speed and disable the annoying "pedal up" braking as well. Even better, we did not have to hack into a bunch of the vehicles factory wiring.
Upon finding success, we quickly realized that many other folks had the same frustrations we did, and our friends all wanted one. Since we had developed this awesome device that we tested and trusted 100%, we decided to manufacture them and make them available to anyone wanting a little more speed. The profits from the SpeedyLink could be used to start the college fund that we kept putting off. Appropriately named, we created Digital Overdrive Systems. After going through the normal hassles, we are proud to now be able to offer the SpeedyLink to other cart enthusiasts like you for your enjoyment.
